Some of my friends say, "Hiring a decorator is expensive", but I know I couldn't have done what I needed without them. They asked what I wanted, and then found the materials and workmen to achieve a beautiful new environment for me. I'm an elderly widow, and Fine Designs helped me to stay in my own home. They saved me from expensive mistakes, and all the stress of finding and scheduling workmen. It was a fairly big, costly job, but it sure beats the nursing home! My house is beautiful and I'm so grateful to Melinda and her staff.
 

We used Fine Designs & Interiors for several remodel projects. They made custom window treatment for our master bedroom, sitting room, bath and dining room. My experience with Melinda and her team was great, they are extremely knowledgeable, talented and a pleasure to work with. I love what they did in each of our rooms and give them the highest rating. Melinda helped us pick out new furniture for our family room, including couch, loveseat, ottoman, dining table & 4 chairs, rug, 3 end tables, TV console and window treatment fabric. Her company made the seat cushions for the dining chairs and the throw pillows for the couches. I made the valences for the windows from the same fabric, which she ordered for us and delivered to our home. She helped with style and color choices. She made helpful suggestions for my painting existing bar stools and file cabinet to coordinate with the new furniture.

Melinda listened carefully to the style and mood I wanted/needed in our family room. She narrowed down the choices to perfectly fit what we needed. She was persistent, she communicated clearly and was so pleasant to be around.

Melinda Peters Elliot was contracted to redo my family room which in the past had been a drab panelled 1960's looking area which I hated. She hired an amish woodcrafter to construct solid oak cabinets with a built in decorative heatalator fire place along with curio cabinets which cover the length of my family room. I had many items stored in various cabinets which made the room unsightly and cluttered. She was able to draw plans to make use of drawers in the new cabinetry to accomodate videos, DVD's CD's and were made to roll into the outer part of the room for hooking up and checking equipment for the entertainment center. A 50" TV was built in above the fireplace that had originally sat on a huge stand.
New carpet in a palm leaf motif was laid and the room had one unsightly wall that faced the crawl space. The amish gentleman quoted a price to build that half wall out of solid bead board tougue and groove oak - I cannot beleive the difference it made. With new furniture added and a new valance on the window that Melinda designed everything feel into place and to the day I am still enjoying the room more than any room in my home. I would highly recommend Melinda for any design or interior consultation and job if you are in need of those services - It only took 1 week from start to finish and in the past if we tried to do it ourselves it would be months of living in a mess, never finishing a lot of the items that we had started. Kudos for a excellent job well done.
